Title: “Strength in Stillness”
Scripture:
“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
Devotion:
In our fast-paced world, we’re often surrounded by noise—constant notifications, endless responsibilities, and a never-ending to-do list. It’s easy to get swept up in the motion and forget to pause. Yet, God calls us to stillness. Not inactivity, but intentional stillness—a moment where we stop striving and start listening.
Psalm 46 reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. But in verse 10, He gives us a command: “Be still.” This isn’t a suggestion; it’s a divine invitation. God wants us to stop and acknowledge who He is—sovereign, faithful, powerful, and loving.
Stillness allows us to realign our hearts with His. In silence, we can hear His voice more clearly. In rest, we can experience His peace more deeply. In surrender, we can trust His plan more fully.
Today, whatever you’re facing, choose to carve out a few moments of stillness. Sit quietly with the Lord. Breathe deeply. Reflect on His goodness. You don’t have to have all the answers. Just rest in the truth that He is God—and He is with you.
Reflection Questions:
- What distractions do you need to silence today to better hear God’s voice?
- How can you intentionally create space for stillness in your day?
- What does “knowing God” look like in your current season?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
In the chaos of life, teach me to be still before You. Quiet my anxious thoughts and remind me of Your presence. Help me to rest in Your sovereignty and trust in Your perfect timing. I surrender today into Your hands. Let Your peace fill my heart and guide my steps.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Encouragement:
Even five minutes of silence with God can refocus your heart and shift your entire day. He’s not waiting for you to perform—He’s simply waiting for you to come.
🕊️ Be still today—and let that stillness be your strength.
