“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Mondays often feel like a reset—a fresh week, new responsibilities, and a chance to begin again. But they can also feel overwhelming. The to-do lists, deadlines, and distractions come quickly. It’s easy to start running before we remember to pray.
Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that strength doesn’t come from striving harder—it comes from waiting on the Lord. Waiting doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means pausing with purpose, seeking God’s presence before tackling the day. When we do this, He renews us—not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally too.
Think of how an eagle rises above the storm. It doesn’t escape the wind; it uses it to soar higher. That’s the kind of strength God gives to those who trust Him. Not the absence of challenges, but the ability to rise above them with grace and power.
Application:
Before jumping into your Monday, take a moment to sit in stillness with God. Offer Him your schedule, your worries, your hopes. Ask for His strength—not just to get through the day, but to reflect His love in all you do.
- What are you carrying into this week that needs to be laid at His feet?
- Where do you need His strength today?
- Who can you encourage with a word of hope?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of a new week. Help me not to rely on my own strength, but to wait on You. Fill me with Your peace, guide my steps, and use me today to reflect Your light. I trust that You will renew my strength for whatever lies ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Go into this Monday with confidence—not because of what you can do, but because of what God promises to do through you.
